At The Synagogues JWC, we don't merely follow the world's calendar—we align with God’s calendar. One of the most sacred and foundational moments in Scripture is when God Himself resets time for His people. This moment is the basis for what we celebrate as Rosh Chodesh, the biblical New Moon and the beginning of months.
“Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt, saying, ‘This month shall be your beginning of months [Rosh Chodesh]; it shall be the first month of the year to you.’”

God made it clear: the day Israel left Egypt was not just a day of deliverance—it was the start of a new timeline.
The month, originally called Abib (later known as Nisan), became the first month of the year—not according to man’s system, but according to God.
At The Synagogues JWC, Rosh Chodesh of Abib is observed as the New Year according to God’s instruction—not January 1st, but the day God ordained as the beginning of divine purpose, deliverance, and destiny.
