And thus you shall eat it: with a belt on your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. So you shall eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover.

EXODUS 12:11 NKJV

Pesach: Passover

Why we celebrate it

At The Synagogues JWC, Pesach is not just an ancient tradition—it is a sacred moment of spiritual alignment, covenant renewal, and prophetic reflection.

Pesach, or Passover, marks one of the most powerful moments in biblical history: the night God delivered Israel from slavery in Egypt through the blood of the lamb. But for us as New Covenant believers, Pesach carries even greater meaning—because it coincides with the most important event in all of human history: the death of Jesus Christ, our Passover Lamb.

We celebrate Pesach because we recognize that Jesus (Yeshua) fulfilled it in every detail.

  • Just as the Israelites were commanded to apply the blood of a spotless lamb to their doorposts to be saved from death (Exodus 12), we acknowledge that it is by the precious blood of Jesus, the Lamb without blemish, that we have been saved from sin and eternal death (1 Peter 1:18-19).
  • When we observe Pesach, we are not just remembering Israel’s exodus—we are proclaiming our own exodus from sin, made possible by the cross.
  • Pesach is the appointed time when Jesus gave His life for us, fulfilling God's plan of redemption and reconciling us to Himself.

By celebrating Pesach, we renew our covenant with God.

  • We remember that we were once in bondage, but God delivered us through the Lamb.
  • We acknowledge that our freedom came at a cost—the blood of His Son.
  • We recommit ourselves to walk in holiness, obedience, and gratitude for what Christ has done.

Pesach is not a ritual—it’s a revelation. It reminds us that we are a covenant people, saved by grace and called to live in the power of resurrection life.

During Pesach, we come together in worship, reflection, and thanksgiving. We partake in communion, remembering the body and blood of Jesus. We honor the Lamb who was slain, and we lift our voices in praise to the God who still delivers, heals, and redeems.
